Golfers everywhere - of all ability levels - are using yoga to increase flexibility and enjoy improved fitness both on and off the course. Yoga, as a component of physical and mental conditioning, continues to take the PGA Tour by storm as one of the golf world’s hottest fitness tools. Tour pros (including Brad Faxon, Jonathan Kaye, Andrew Magee, Gary McCord, JL Lewis, Aaron Baddely, David Gossett, Ty Tryon, Chip Beck… as well as the LPGA’s Julie Inkster, Jill McGill, and Betsy King) are leading the way in promoting the benefits that golfers can reap from incorporating yoga into their golf fitness plan.

The Yoga For Golfers program is comprised of weekly yoga/golf fitness classes, educational workshops, training programs and DVD’s developed by Katherine Roberts.

Yoga For Golfers classes can be enjoyed as a weekly additional to your fitness schedule or integrated as a memorable, unique and appreciated element of your special event, educational event or corporate golf function.

FIRST TEE STRETCHES
Immediately prior to tee-off, Debbie will lead your group through 15 minutes of yoga-based pre-tee exercises (any size group, from individual to tournaments of 144 players shotgun start). These are all exercises that can be done in golf attire on the golf course. A single golf club can be used optionally as a prop for some exercises. Debbie is available for Q&A 30 minutes prior to tee-off.

YOGA FOR GOLFERS CLASSES
This class features information on trends in golf fitness, mechanics of the swing and muscles involved and the direct golf benefit of each yoga exercise. Participants will learn breathing awareness and its immediate benefit to golf performance, and techniques to use breathing for relaxation and visualization.

HALF DAY CLINIC
This clinic utilizes the tools outlined above plus may include:

  • Par, Birdie or Eagle level Yoga For Golfers class(intensity level depends on the physical abilities of the group) 
  • Presentation by a sports psychologist on tips to conquerthe overactive mind and play while golfing more than ever before 
  • Applying the skills learned on the driving range and putting green
  • A CPGA Pro-lead clinic on mechanics and tips to improvethe participant’s game 
  • Q&A session
  • Individual work on participant’s needs

CUSTOM PROGRAM
Your group needs can be address through a customized program. We’ll coordinate directly with your club to ensure that you have the most unforgettable golf experience possible.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private instruction class for individuals or small groups.
Participants can expect a 20-40% increased range of motion translating immediately into greater distance, accuracy, and strength on the course!
